At least 5 defenders behind the ball at all times.
31:48 - Really nice shot from Thailand. Torres's cross is headed into the net by Tal Ben Haim (Portsmouth) it's An embarrassing own goal. Then again, if he hadn't headed it, Malouda was in a position to score. Either that or he thinks he still plays for Chelsea!
08:43 - Chelsea is piling up the pressure in Portsmouth's half as they continue to dominate in possession.
09:32 - Lovely movement! Though it did not go anywhere
14:11 - There hasn't been any real threat to either side... Either really good defensive play or really shitty offensive play from both sides.
15:20 - A Portsmouth free-kick is crossed into the box. Even though Wycombe are a League 1 side that we should be beating anyways, the squad is said to have looked in good shape as Benayoun, Torres and young Rajkovic were on the scoresheet at the end of the day. As it was a closed off event, I did not see the match therefore, I cannot give my usual match report. This was Villa Boas' first chance to measure his squad against another as he put on 23 men over the full-time period. With the next match being 4 days away at Portsmouth, the squad will want to be well rested as they will want to leave to Asia on a positive note as they will face Malaysia XI, Thailand All-Stars, and Kitchee (HK) on their tour.Тулговскиhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04414834206412531165noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345953122026722067.post-20073791015569128742011-06-23T08:58:00.000-07:002011-07-12T16:33:07.099-07:00Andre Villas-Boas it is!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 180px;" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-D8WXweTv7qE/ThzZiFciVOI/AAAAAAAAAFs/bdN4R8_gRR4/062311.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5628612813906924770" />

Chelsea Football Club has ended all speculation and appointed Andre Villas-Boas as manager. I for one, am delighted to see this. He is possibly the most gifted young managers around as he is said to analyze every aspect of his opponents. Now, I only have 2 things I'm worried about. After the amount of money we have spent, how much is the transfer-budget? and also if Villas-Boas does not succeed in his first year, is he going to get the axe?

I hope he is given the chance to build his envisioned team and bring us that elusive UEFA Champions League trophy because let's face it:
a) These frequent changes in managers causes the team to lose rhythm
b) It's costing the club millions and therefore reducing not only our overall transfer budget, but also credibility. (Sugardaddy losing his image)
c) It takes time to build a team. If we keep changing we are gonna have bits of Jose's vision, a bit of Grant's, and so on and so forth...
d) All managers can go through rough patches. Look at Fergie's years... Managers like Ancelotti do not lose their ability and talent over 1 season... they are still the same managers that have won the Champions League a couple of times.

All I'm saying is, we should definitely settle on a manager we like for the next few years.Тулговскиhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04414834206412531165noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345953122026722067.post-80036526663872503642011-06-19T12:49:00.000-07:002011-06-23T09:18:11.950-07:00Chelsea as a tool?I am fairly annoyed that I have read of so many names linked with Chelsea. People are getting new offers from their respective clubs because they were 'recently linked with Chelsea'. I believe some agents hype up their clients and falsely drive their values up and Chelsea have become a tool for that. Seems like all you have to do to get a renewed improved deal is to have a rumor stating that Chelsea is looking at you. I think the club should look at some of these and make an official statement saying they have no interest in the player. At least that would deter some other clubs of offering new contracts to the sound of Chelsea... As for Neymar, it may to too late for him to join the squad now seeing as how much stir he has caused in the media and snubbing Chelsea because even if he was to join now, he probably would have some trouble fitting into the squad as the players will probably see him as a cocky little (insert profanity here)Тулговскиhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04414834206412531165noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345953122026722067.post-90825341573072212152011-06-13T03:39:00.000-07:002011-06-19T12:43:44.689-07:00Time will tell...<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 180px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-R05rhmrlVeA/Tf5REJSXZBI/AAAAAAAAAFU/HXHxEuyYqYE/s400/guus.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620018516659233810" />
As with many of our blue favourites, I am wondering why we haven't signed a new manager yet. The logical explaination is that Guus Hiddink is our man and we are just waiting for him to come back from holiday and finalise his standings with the Turkish FA. Other explanations might include the upper management are quietly trying to pry a manager from under another club or Mr.Abromavich is too busy to make any deals because he is off dealing with other business in Moscow. Whatever the case, we need a manager fast so that we can get this transfer season started. Every morning I wake up with hopes to find an article on the official page stating that we have aquired the services of Guus Hiddink or Zola or anyone for that matter, but to my disappointment, it hasn't been the case. Also another thing I wanted to mention about our managers, we should not be firing them every season... Let's face it, we are never going to find a manager who will win the league every season... Even Fergie (perhaps the most successful manager in the EPL) took 4 years to build the squad he needed in order to win any trophies. Whoever we get next, I hope gets the time he needs to build the team accordingly...Тулговскиhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04414834206412531165noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6345953122026722067.post-16228055219942023322011-06-09T04:08:00.001-07:002011-06-09T15:10:11.640-07:00About Neymar...
All this talk about Neymar coming to the Bridge has gotten me thinking... Different league, different pace, different game. What if, maybe, we also look at bringing in other Brazilian league stars so that they can fit in well together. My suggestions would be Ganso or Dario Conca to play alongside Neymar. Yes, it would rather be expensive and yes we DO have Ramires but hear me out. We have signed expensive stars before who failed to get the support he is used to and therefore underachieved... Schevchenko and, most recently, Torres both lacked the game they were used to playing. We are all hoping that a little pre-season can get Torres into the Chelsea flow but it would be a crying shame if a new up-and-coming starlet like Neymar fell into this group of Chelsea 'flops'. Ramires is a decent midfielder but his style of play is a lot different from Neymar's... maybe I'm wrong but I'm just sick of having Manures and Arses saying "Chelsea signs names, not players"Тулговскиhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04414834206412531165noreply@blogger.com0
